I know I’m suppose to be studying but I’m just hooked on watching dramas now. haha! Personal Taste is what I’m watching now. Acted by Lee Min Ho is one reason why I’m watching it.
Typical. Thanks to Elaine, I’m watching it now. lol! I’m not too sure if it’s no thanks or thanks to her right now.
There’s so much going on yet nothing at the same time. It’s really hard to reflect on this week as it’s mainly just work and loads of free time on my end now. Good that I’m starting to go out on the weekends again because my weekdays are much free-er now. Right now, I’m just waiting for God’s next step for me and for me to take a stab at things. I actually bothered to calculate how long more before I can graduate and guess what? It’s going to take me another 4 years from now!! Omgosh. It’s insane! I’m not sure if I want to take that long to complete it. Depending on my urgency on finishing things up, I might actually study full-time to work part-time. It’s not a bad thing because I’m enjoying my student life right now, even though I’m working. I still feel strangely student-ish.

My Private dinner at MOS Tampines!
Had dinner on my own during this week and as we all know that the sitting area for MOS is tiny. So I was hogging on a 4 seater while I’m just one person. I saw an Indian aunty looking for seats and since she was in front of me, I told her to join me on the table that was beside me. I felt strangely comfortable sitting with her. Usually I will feel awkward having strangers in the same table as me but it wasn’t for that day. Almost like I had alcohol to numb that awkwardness in me. She was actually quite cute because she bothered to strike a conversation with me by asking me “What’s that soup? Is it nice?”. I enjoy talking to nice strangers but it’s almost RARE for me to do that in Singapore compared to while I’m overseas.
I think she felt awkward sitting with me and moved to the next table beside me when it’s available. Either that or she just wants private space. I’m totally cool with that because I like private space too. Even though it was just one liner, it totally made my day after that. I was actually happy that I’ve spoken with a stranger. Please skip off tiko peks, those are gross. Oh, she actually complaint to me that they didn’t give her tissues. haha! It was on her tray but she didn’t see it and I have to point it out to her. So that was one awesome evening.

Met Jolyn for church and breakfast today. It’s been a while since we had a catch up. We were actually laughing at how she’s the “king”, choosing her “concubines”, which is me, to meet for that day.
Met QiQi on Saturday after her cell group! It’s just amazing to see her leading a cell group because I know it isn’t easy and that’s why I’m not one up till now. I prefer to help/support the cell leader than to lead one. I enjoy watching people grow up and grow in the Lord. She’s like another younger sister to me aside from Janice. haha! It’s easier for me to have younger sister than to have an older one, simply because I’m the oldest in the family. We had awesome dim sum at Katong and recently, I’ve fallen in love with places like Katong and Siglap.
Later in the evening, we met up with Jeff for supper at HK in ECP. It’s been a while since I catch up with him and it was definitely an enjoyable evening. No thanks to the 2 cups of tea + coffee I drank because it kept me up till 6am the following day!! I only had 2 hours of sleep until Sunday. Thank God it was Sunday, not Monday.
Talked about girly stuff and their wedding which is happening soon. It’s just amazing at how fast we’re growing up even though we don’t really want to? I would like to hop over to Neverland now. haha!

I adore this picture with my sis and I.
If said that I wasn’t busy at all. It’s been busy busy busy ever since I came back from Korea. Korea was my breather… It been 2 weeks since I was away and it felt like a year since I was away to Korea. How bad can this be?!
Coming next I will need to study for my exams! Geez, I’ve been saying I wanted to start last week and no progress has been made. Really bad…
Thank God that I passed my quiz even though I hardly touched the pages at all. I was like praying “God, you have to help me… because and simply because nobody can”. I will be lying if I said I wasn’t desperate to pass. haha! I scored 72.5! I was even glad if it was a 50, as long as I don’t fail. So yay! That’s 1/3 subjects down!!
I’m back to Singapore and reality now. Glad to be back somehow. At least I won’t feel so disconnected now.
I’m not too conclusive if that’s a good thing.
Daddy was so generous this week! I was coughing so badly that I told him I need a humidifier for my room and he got me one! I chose the egg shape because I love Eggs! I might actually open a cafe call “Eggs”. haha! The next day, he bought me an acoustic guitar! (My granny chipped in partly for this!) Actually I liked the classical one better now? Partly because it doesn’t hurt so bad when I press the strings. I like the shape of it as it’s more comfortable for females with a smaller and sexier guitar body.
We, girls, love curves as much as guys do. So all I have to do now is season my guitar and I think I’ll just fall in love with it next.
Doesn’t sound so bad now.

Mother’s Day this week?!
We celebrated on Friday partly because I hate to clash with the crowd and also I was in the mood to give my family a treat. It’s been sometime since I treated them for dinner. My sister didn’t make it, so it was just my mom and dad. We had Tonkichi @ Tampines Mall.
Food Review: Tonkichi (Tampines Mall)
Loves:

This was the best dish among everything we had.
I can’t remember what was it called. Sorry.
All of us found the food quite salty and the chawamushi was a disappointment to me because it didn’t taste as good as Sakae’s. We had cold soba with fried pork cutlet. I found the pork a little smelly, almost like it wasn’t fresh! The Yaki Udon was a disappointment too because there was too much gravy in it and made it super salty. I would have preferred it a little drier. My mom tried this kimchi ramen, it wasn’t too bad just oily. We spent like $113 for everything and I doubt I will be going back there again soon.
Would have chosen Ding Tai Feng/Crystal Jade if I knew it was going to be this expensive and so-so quality food.

HUGE Strawberry!

Ramen @ Ramen Play (313 Somerset)

I know I’m short alright.
Left – Right: That’s Sam, Me, Elaine and NK.
That day was the hardest day for me to say goodbye to Seoul and to the people I knew there.
We packed our rooms a little before heading to Holly’s Coffee for breakfast. We got tired of eggs and bread even though it was provided there for us.
Morning Breakfast Set.
Our flight was at 4pm ish? So we had the morning free to ourselves. We visited Hostel Korea as well, which was another hostel run by the same boss and 2 guys above.
This hostel was much bigger but it doesn’t have en suite rooms. I like my personal room and toilets but shared living room, so there’s interaction and life around the place. I dislike it a lot when I have to stay shut inside the room for the night before I sleep. I want to know new people.
It’s my first backpackers stay… well, maybe not. But it’s my first backpackers stay in a family sort of rooming. I love the environment when I arrived. Everybody was talking to each other and there was so much life and interaction going on in the tiny kitchen area. It’s crazy fun for me! We know the Sam & NK have been working hard to run the place and they did a fantastic job on it. One day if they ever read my blog, I hope this will be an encouragement for them.
Bossom! Or rather that’s what Sam calls it.

I love the Kimchi that comes with it.
We wanted to try out Sam’s favourite food before we left Seoul. So we asked him if he was free to join us for lunch and to bring us there as well. I didn’t know they could do takeaways with so many things! I knew they could do it with Jajangmyeon and fried Chicken (something like KFC). Anyways, we were kinda too early for takeaways so we had to wait for him to clear his work before we headed down to this traditional restaurant for our last meal in Seoul. It was the only time we had to sit on the floor and eat!! It was a short walk behind backpackers Korea. You can ask Sam or NK if any of you are going to stay there.
Sam helped us with our luggage and sent us to the Airport limousine bus stop that was 3 mins away from the backpackers Korea. That’s where I felt kinda sad about going home because reality hits home to me at that point.
So that’s bye Korea and bye Seoul…

For almost 5 hours in the airplane I was sad until I saw him.

Jang Keunsuk aka Jang Geun Seok
Didn’t I mentioned that if he was in the same airplane as me, I’ll be the happiest person around? I was happy at that point of time. I didn’t recognise him as first and I was thinking “Gosh, what a girly hairstyle for a man! Is he gay?!”. Lol! Then I was hit with the fact that he DOES look like Keunsuk and GAWD… it was him alright. He was 2 seats in front of me and it was only the last 30 mins of the flight that he came to the economy class to talk to his crew members. He could have come earlier then I would probably have asked for a photo or something.
Elaine saw him and didn’t tell me. Horrible right! I like 3 guys from Korea. Kim Bum, Keunsuk and Junsu. I saw 2 out of 3 in 10 days when my chances are less than 0.1%. Elaine said it’s because I’m bringing a “Heng” person around. Maybe… haha!
Junsu came like on the following Thursday which was a week after I returned from Korea. If I delayed a little more, I might have seen Junsu instead of Keunsuk. hahahaha! Oh well. I’m happy with whom I’m met. No complains!

Our last full day before leaving Seoul the following noon. It’s almost heart wrenching to be back to reality again. I guess it’s the same for most people… almost normal. We wanted to be a little more ambitious to go to Morning Calm and Nami Island but guess what? We asked NK if it was possible and he did a research for us in Korean… and said it’s not possible unless we have a car. Geez. If not, I would have headed to the place where they shot “You’re Beautiful” there. Nevermind! I saw my handsome Keunsuk up close in the end, so it doesn’t matter anymore.
We took a KO Rail from at this station that was 2 stops down from Sinseol-dong and the journey was so long. I thought I won’t be able to sit in this train as I did sat a lot of it while I was in Japan but only once in Seoul. Shows that we didn’t move out of Seoul a lot. haha! Well, there’s a lot of stuff to look at in Seoul itself.

Nami Island? Ring bell?
That’s right… There’s where Winter Sonata was filmed and ever since, loads of couples come here to enjoy scenery. Ajumma(s) as well. haha! We rented bicycles to cycle around the island and guess what? We completed it in about 3o mins? Good thing we didn’t rent it for 2 hours, else we would have been very bored! Their max limit was 1 hour.

That’s our cute bikes but they’re EXTREMELY hard to ride on.
I like mountain bikes better.

I liked this picture I took.

I love this much!

Awesome Elaine walking on air!
I wonder if it’s the boots!
.
.
.

Loads of walking can really make people like us HUNGRY!!
And… that’s when I saw Kim Bum too!! Omgosh!! I thought if I could see Keunsuk on the same plane it would have been awesome! Or Junsu somewhere too. I nearly saw all three… nearly…
They caught me taking a photo but it was too late cos I snapped it with my DSLR. I appreciate my fast speed camera for once.
That’s Kim Bum on the tram!

.
I did something really naughty too… and it’s been a while since I did it.

Vandalism!! Haha! It’s our trademark left at the entrance of one of the female toliet on Nami Island. If you see it one day, say “hi” to it for me.

Toddles Folks!!
Close to getting all the post up. I’m getting lazier already and it’s been one week plus since I’ve been back from Korea.

And for this day… I regret not bringing my camera with me because it was really beautiful at Everland. There where having some tulip event and I love tulip.
Makes me really happy and crazy (like above). As usual, I’m stealing pictures from Elaine again and Arthur’s too. She want royalties for using her pictures. Tsk tsk. After so many years of friendship, this is what I get. Sad!!!
Getting to Everland was slightly trickier compared to Lotte world because it was a little off Seoul and we have Arthur with us that day too. Good thing he came along else I won’t be playing any of the scary rides because Elaine was off her limits already… from Lotte world.

Everland is over at the mountain areas. 1hr from Seoul by bus.
It was actually big enough to store like a zoo in there?
The weather that day was really good because we didn’t need our wind breaker of any sort. Just a slightly thick jacket for me.
Check out the blue faced monkey.

Or maybe your gramps? haha!

T Express

That’s right. I sat on that wooden roller coaster.
It was an experience sitting on the wooden one.

Probably the only group photo we have. Awww…
I’m quite amazed at how big Everland was. I actually enjoyed the place a lot a lot more. So my recommendations? Everland is the winner for this one.

Sorry but I don’t have much to write on this one as it’s more on pictures and nothing much to talk about. Everybody knows about rides anyways. haha! We spent our whole day at Everland and back to Seoul for dinner before heading back to backpackers Korea for the day.

Chef Arthur

Yummy bbq porky for dinner.

Another street food before calling it a day. Haha!
We eat alot somehow and still lost weight. Amazing.
